DESCRIPTION:Join HD SOUTH and local children’s picture book author-illustrator\, Jenifer Tull-Gauger\, for a book reading and workshop to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Jenifer will be reading her book The Two True Karate Kids: A Dojo Kun Character Book on Battling Dishonesty and the Spanish version will be read congruently (Los dos verdaderos niños de karate: Un libro de carácter de Dojo Kun sobre cómo combatir a la deshonestidad). In addition to honesty\, the theme of this book is friendship. After the book reading\, Jenifer will lead a casual mini–Knowledge Café. This is a roundtable type discussion where everyone will be encouraged to share their experiences with Hispanic culture and friendship. In a Knowledge Café\, we all learn from each other. DESCRIPTION:Join former ASU professor and Director of Communications at ASU’s College of Integrative Sciences and Arts\, Duane Roen and his wife\, Maureen Roen\, a percussionist with the Chandler Symphony Orchestra\, for this fun and interactive music making workshop. Budding percussionists of all ages will learn how to make and play simple percussion instruments from items found around the home. At the beginning of the workshop\, Duane and Maureen will show some percussion instruments that they have built\, and everyone is welcome to play them. Following that\, they will help class participants make simple instruments using everyday objects. SUMMARY:Monday Yoga at the Museum
DESCRIPTION:Join instructor Darien Pruitt\, The Mobile Yogi\, as she guides participants through a Hatha Flow class.  Darien has practiced yoga since 2010 and recently completed her 200-hour yoga instructor training. She helps her students realize how yoga\, breath\, and mindfulness can change their lives for the better.  Ages 16 & up.  Bring your own mat. Registration is required.  Attendance is limited. \n  \nPlease only register as a member if you have a museum membership to HD SOUTH.
