DESCRIPTION:Bring your lunch and join HD SOUTH and Literally\, A Bookshop\, who have partnered to host a community book club.  The Lunch Hour Book Club will meet twice a month\, every other month\, beginning in November; each book will be discussed over the course of the two sessions. \n  \nThe November book pick is Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout.  The Book Club will meet on Monday\, 11/4/24\, and Monday 11/18/24\, from 11:30am-1:00pm at HD SOUTH.  Advance registration is required and is limited to the first 12 registrants.  Registration includes one copy of the book\, which can be picked up at Literally\, A Bookshop\, or at HD SOUTH(please designate in your order notes when purchasing if you’d like to pick up your book at HD SOUTH).  Literally\, A Bookshop is located at 610 N Alma School Rd\, Unit 12\, Chandler\, AZ and is open Wednesday through Sunday.  HD SOUTH is located at 10 S. SUMMARY:Book Reading - Two True Karate Kids
DESCRIPTION:Join HD SOUTH and local children’s picture book author-illustrator\, Jenifer Tull-Gauger\, for a book reading and workshop to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Jenifer will be reading her book The Two True Karate Kids: A Dojo Kun Character Book on Battling Dishonesty and the Spanish version will be read congruently (Los dos verdaderos niños de karate: Un libro de carácter de Dojo Kun sobre cómo combatir a la deshonestidad). In addition to honesty\, the theme of this book is friendship. After the book reading\, Jenifer will lead a casual mini–Knowledge Café. This is a roundtable type discussion where everyone will be encouraged to share their experiences with Hispanic culture and friendship. In a Knowledge Café\, we all learn from each other. A parent or guardian must be present with children under 12. Spanish speakers are also encouraged to attend. Animamos a los hispanohablantes a unirse a nosotros.
