Watercolor and graphite were chosen as primary media to highlight the nuanced beauty and complexity achieved through transparent layering\, contributing depth and vitality to each portrait within the collection.  Edgar “8ahau” Fernandez was born in Los Angeles\, California and moved to Phoenix\, Arizona in the year 2000 where he embraced his identity and found his passion for painting in the Sonoran Desert. Fernandez recently completed his BFA in painting at ASU and is a full-time artist. Since 2013\, he has accomplished public recognition in Arizona through solo exhibitions\, group shows\, awards\, and mural projects. His work inspires creativity\, cultural identity\, and resilience within his audience.
