LIVING BEHIND A CHINESE LAUNDRY

Gilbert resident and U.S. Navy veteran Lucy Wong, was born in Los Angeles and grew up behind her parent’s Chinese laundry in Los Angles County. Lucy will share personal accounts of her family’s experiences working in an environment that is a unique and often untold part of American history. She will recount their achievements, struggles, racial prejudices, and social and cultural isolations.
